ERIC N WELLS – MS, PA-C, CCHP
Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer
Sawtooth Correctional Medicine was founded in 2014 to help small correctional centers in the state of Idaho meet the health needs of inmates in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner. Sawtooth Correctional accomplishes this by providing weekly sick call clinics, on call services, prescription medication oversight, health assessments, and security staff training. Eric Wells is the founder, president and chief medical officer of Sawtooth Correctional Medicine.
Eric has been providing health care in correctional settings for 7 years and exclusively for the last 5 years. He received his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Pacific University in Forrest Grove, OR in 2006. He has practiced exclusively in Idaho and understands the medical needs of small county jails. He has worked in various county jails around the state as well as the juvenile detention center in Nampa, ID. He currently works for the Ada County Sheriff’s Office providing care to inmates. He has a firm understanding of what it takes to provide care in a correctional setting, working hard to provide low cost solutions to complex problems, without compromising care to inmates. He is a Certified Correctional Health Professional, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and a member of the Idaho Physician Assistant Association. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family in the beautiful Idaho outdoors.
